Fairpoint closed for business
I tried to call Fair-point today to find out why they charged me for long distance when I have unlimited phone calls in the USA. But they are closed and dont talk to anyone after 5 pm and if you call 10 minutes before on a friday they will keep hanging up on you till you quit calling. And they get away with it. They should be open 24 - 7 so customers can get service Oh but wait how could they *** off customers that way? Yes they seem to enjoy *** your off probably more so than giving service. No I am finished with them I am looking for service elsewhere. Internet so slow my leg hair grew past my ankles waiting for it to connect me to the internet. And on top of it I cant watch a movie with out it pausing and trying to catch up. Speeds below 1 mb the service sucks the people are the worst in the world no I they dont do anything to help just try to *** you off so you will hang up and not call back. Where are the supervisors? Where are the people who actually give service. They probably fired them for taking care of customers. I really think they want the people gone so they can close the company down. No children should not be allowed to serve customers without supervision by someone who cares about the company they work for. Good bye Fairpoint you suck.

Terrible Technical Support
I have had the worse experience I have ever had, getting internet service from a provider. I recently relocated to a new residence, I decided I would switch from Metrocast "Cable access" to FairPoint "DSL internet access" in an effort to trim my expense budget. FairPoint gives you a 30 day free trial, I'm starting to think it's a darn good thing because my experience with FairPoint's Installation Service's, Resolution Department and Customer Support follow-up over the first three weeks has been ridiculous, almost laughable. They were suppose to connect the exterior lines from pole to house on Dec 5th and my service was to be active on the 12th. To date, I have had to make several calls to FairPoint's Support Line, the first call was on Dec 12th, I suppose to be active, it was discovered that the work oder for the 5th was never completed. The Support Associate was very nice, professional and honest during the call, as was all the other subsequent calls, however it was the lack of execution of each and every commitment that was made to me. I was told on two different support calls that I would receive a call back that never happened, as a matter of fact, to date I haven't gotten one call from a Customer Service Associate, asking how my experience has been during this the "TRIAL PERIOD!!!" If I had gotten a call, they would have learned that over the last three weeks, I've had no connection more than I've been connected, as a matter of fact, I'm using my CELL PHONE to tether a connection on my iPad to submit this complaint because I currently have no connection!!!!! Ha ha ha Sadly, I really can't comment on DSL quality because I haven't really had a chance to experience it because it's been off more than on. I hope someone from FairPoint calls me soon because I Refuse to call again to only be given promises that never happen.

I was charged for a bill not even due !
I provided my card information for the auto payment. I get my latest bill- my payment that is due for internet is $19.99. My next payment is due on Dec 03, 2012- well they just decided to charge me for it now. When I called- I was told that i would need to call back the next business day. that there was nothing that could be done- the payment had gone through for $39.98. I did AR for 11 years and payment can be reversed- their customer service sucks and I will be reporting them for theft of money that is not owed and they took it !! WRONG.

Fair Point Communications unable to restore phone service.
I admit that the original problem was my fault. We changed our phone number and I did not realize that that also meant we had a new account number, so I was sending payments to the wrong account. Consequently our phone and internet service was suspended. I called that same day and got everything sorted out including the fact that I have a credit balance. I was assured that service would be restored within 24 hours. It is now nearly 72 hours later and despite several phone calls (via my cell phone) my phone and internet are both still suspended. If a phone company is not able to restore phone service perhaps they should be in some other line of work.
